Cohousing Resources considers Internet user privacy to be of paramount importance. The information shown below reflects Cohousing Resources' commitment to protecting our users' privacy both on and offline.

Privacy Objectives
What personally identifiable information does Cohousing Resources and its business partners collect?
Cohousing Resources only collects personally identifiable information you voluntarily provide in order to utilize our customized products and services. Personally identifiable information includes, but is not limited to, first and last name, physical address, zip code, email address, phone number, and any other information that in itself identifies or when tied to the above information, may identify you as a specific individual. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Cohousing Resources collects information from our users at several different points on our website.
Registration
In order to use the Member Services area of this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to provide their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the user about the services on our site for which they have expressed interest. We do NOT ask the user to provide demographic information (such as income level and gender), and unique identifiers (such as social security number), however, the Matching Service feature of the site requires that the user provide general geographic location (such as state and county).
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.
Some of our member communities and external links use cookies on their sites, however, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Sharing
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and member communities. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
We provide specific services for our member communities and their membership. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the member community to provide these services. These communities are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Cohousing Resources is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.
Newsletter/Guest Register
If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.
Matching Services
The Matching Services area of our site is set up to enable interested parties to find and/or form Cohousing communities in a specific geographic area. This service is set up as a moderated "forum" or "bulletin board" and as such, Cohousing Resources reserves the right to reject any messages that are in violation of the terms of use for this site. Cohousing Resources will not provide your personal contact information to anyone unless you supply it in a posted message. If you do post your information and choose to remove it at a later date, please e-mail matchmaker@cohousingresources.com, stating your userID [do not include your password], the date you posted your entry, and the content you wish to remove in the body of the message and we'll remove your message within two business days.
Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

Correction/Updating Personal Information:
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can usually be done at the member information page or by mailing our Customer Support department, Cohousing Resources,LLC, PO Box 1288, Langley, WA 98260.
Choice/Opt-out
Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by email at webmaster@cohousingresources.com.
Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

Not a member? Please use the Membership sign-up form to create a new account with Cohousing Resources, LLC and their member communities. Upon submittal, your information will be reviewed by a system administrator and processed. Applicants will be notified automatically via email with further instructions. Please allow one week for your account to be processed.

We welcome your comments and suggestions about how we can improve our privacy procedures. For non-privacy related inquiries, please email info@cohousingresources.com. We will confirm receipt of your inquiry (privacy or non-privacy related) within two business days.
Cohousing Resources reserves the right to modify or amend the Privacy Statement at any time and for any reason. However, significant changes to our information privacy practices will be made available for reference for a period up to six months after such a change occurs.
